Post-Production
Your website is finished. Now what?
Hosting
Well, it's time to post your site for the world to see. That means you'll need the site hosted somewhere, and you'll be paying recurring "space rent" or
hosting fees. Here's where you really need a Tour Guide. Not all hosting is alike.
Some companies use shared T-1 lines to broadcast your site, while others use a huge pipeline, equivalent to three T-3 lines. The bigger the pipeline, the
faster the transmission. Web Masters uses the largest pipeline available.
Some companies have a single computer in somebody's garage, used to host all their customers. Some companies have back-up systems, to insure that if
your site goes down because of equipment failure, another system "kicks in" to take over. Web Masters' hosting has three sets of redundant equipment, so
you're not down for very long.
Some companies only provide you a place for your site, and don't offer any support services. Web Masters offers a Control Panel with all our hosting
accounts, so you can peek at your site statistics -- how many visitors, when they visit, what browsers are they using, etc.
Search Engines
We need to let people know that you're out the you're out there, so we register your site to all the major search engines, which are like electronic Yellow Pages. The search
engines all have different criteria for how they categorize and list a site. We at Web Masters make it our business to know the inside scoop, and we design
your site to have every advantage in meeting the criteria.
Search engines do change their criteria from time to time. Web Masters recommends periodic tune-ups to keep your results high.
If you're really serious about attracting search-engine activity, Web Masters keeps current with the techniques to get you high search rankings.
But those strategies are proprietary, and only available for our customers.
Maintenance
Just as your business is continually growing and changing, so your web site must follow the same pattern. It's important to update your site often, by
adding new information, editing old information, posting new product photos, changing prices, etc. Maybe you'd like to add some features to your current
website, and leave the information intact.
The look of your site can become stale after awhile, as new technology enters the marketplace. Colors become out of fashion, and fonts start to look too
common. Navigational styles can change. It's time for a facelift.
Web Masters can offer you a facelift or a whole new face.
Marketing
This includes a vast array of options, such as banner advertising on Yahoo, swap advertising with business associates, collateral ads in printed publications
or radio and television, mass email campaigns, and "click-through" collaborations with other websites. Web Masters can assist you by developing a
marketing strategy that is tailor-made for your business.
Happy travels! Let Web Masters lend a hand in the journey!
