Q. If a site is indexed to a search engine and it relates to squirrels and Forest of Dean in the UK. How can you get them to find yours site first if they know no more about you. Thank you
A. Each search engine works a little differently. You'll need to research each of the search engines you wish to be indexed at and their specific method of sorting - then follow their instructions.

Q. What's job description web master?
A. A web master is technically someone who looks after a web server, keeping it up and running - though it is frequently used to refer to anyone who is directly involved in web page creation.
Q. Where can I get a program that runs video on win 95?
A. Playing video in your browser is a function of the browser. If you are using a modern browser it's probably already configured to play video - if not, when you access a page with video your browser should take you to a site with the proper plug-ins. Download a compatible plug-in and install it - then you should be able to see the video elements.
Be aware that video files are huge. Seeing them over the internet means a long download unless you have a very fast connection.
Q. How do I know my URL? I use a dialup ppp connection and win 95.
Thanks.
A. A URL, Universal Resource Locator, is the internet address of a particular web page. You don't have or need one unless you have a web page, in which case your ISP will have provided the URL to you.
Q. I'm looking for research assistance. I'm putting together a business plan treatment for a 'net content project. Do you know of any really good articles out there that hype-up the growth of internet content? i.e., why should an investor put his money into developing internet entertainment/content projects?
Thanks a million guys!
A. There is plenty of "hype." Check CyberAtlas or search on the word ³demographic² in one of the search engines.

A. The WebAnswerMan is here to answer questions regarding the Internet and World Wide Web - and your question regarding copyright is a little beyond our expertise - but I would suggest searching on the keyword "copyright" and I'm sure you will find the answer to your questions.
Q. What are the advantages to copywriting your web page? How is it done and what does it cost?
Thanks!
A. The first step is letting people know that the work is copyrighted, and this is done with a notice on the document. In regards to the advantages of copyright - I'm not sure anyone can say yet - but it's usually better to err on the side on protecting yourself. For further information on copyrighting, search on the web for "copyright" and you'll find plenty of information. For legal counsel seek the advice of a experienced attorney. (NOTE: In late 1996 legislation was passed in regard to copyrighting material on the web. As with all legal matters, check with a experienced attorney.)
Q. If you have two graphic images (identical in every respect) except one is in a jpg format and one is in a gif format which image will load fastest from a web site?
A. That is a very good question and unfortunately one that does not have a simple answer. It depends on what is in the graphic. Does it contain large areas of a single color or is it a continuous tone image?
The simple answer is - for continuous tone images use JPEG for everything else use GIF.
